The Baddest Bitch

Tom wanted his blog to have 3 columns; a left column for archives and other info, a middle column for blog content and a right column for advertising space. He asked for a bold and funky title and requested that his picture be incorporated into the header.

Tom loves the colors of his MySpace page and wanted his blog to match. “Hot pink, sky blue and yellow” were his colors of choice.

Rag Swag

Lynn and Alex are America’s favorite couple from the Amazing Race 7. When they’re not dishing the dirt with Hollywood’s hottest on the red carpet, they can be heard on the Adam Carolla show with Teresa Strasser sharing all the juciest, unedited celebrity gossip from their website L.A. Rag Mag. With so much exposure, Lynn and Alex decided that it was time to give their site a face-lift.

The couple purchased a hosting account with Dreamhost and was ready to make the move from Blogger to Wordpress.

Clients supplied a photo of Lynn to be used in the header graphic and a photo of a mural from one of the favorite restaurants to be used as the site’s background image. They wanted a “bright, funky, pop culture look with lots of typewriters thrown in”.

Blogger archives were exported and imported into the new CMS.

Gossip Never Looked So Good

Client was looking for a stylish, retro feel for her site. She requested that one of her columns be strictly categories and that they be organized into different sections. Certain spots within the site were coded to accommodate for ads. A contact form was set up, along with other plugins for recent comments, recent and related entries and top entries as well.

In addition, an attachment page was coded to allow for viewing of larger images within the layout. Social bookmarking (digg, del.icio.us, etc.) was also incorporated.

Bricks and Stones

Courtney was ready to say good-bye to Blogger and hello to Wordpress. She already had her domain name, so all she had to do was purchase a hosting package from Dreamhost.

Client was looking for a 3 column setup with lots of room for ads. Both graphics, used in the layout, were chosen by Courtney and were just perfect for the concept of the site.

Blogger archives were exported and imported into the new CMS.

The Scoop

Lisa was ready to take the next step and move her popular celebrity baby blog from TypePad to Wordpress. She was looking for a clean, fresh and simple look with a “handwritten font” thrown in.

Venturesom came up with the perfect illustration of a mother and daughter to build her site around. A thick, right sidebar was used to hold numerous items such as ads, recent posts, recent comments and a poll. Among other things, Gravatars were implemented in user comments, and TypePad archives were imported.

Retro Beef

Client was looking to build a site as an extension of a game her and her girlfriends have played for years called ‘Packing Meat’. Unlike ranking an individual’s attractiveness on a scale of 1-10, they rank on the basis of meat cuts. Chump is obviously not good. Prime cut is obviously…. well, prime.

Client wanted a “retro feel and some funky fonts”. 3 columns with designated ad space, social bookmarking, separated categories, and a contact form were also requested. Special meat scale graphics were also incorporated for visual rating purposes.
